One tap, and the noise is gone
Block for 15 minutes, two hours, or until you decide you're done. A live ring counts it down in the app, in the Dynamic Island, and on your Lock Screen — and finishing one builds your streak.
Force-quit the app. Restart your phone. Open the folder you always open. The apps you blocked are still blocked — and getting out early costs 32 seconds of breathing, not a tap you make without noticing.

The problem
That's not a discipline failure — it's a design failure. A blocker with an off switch is a reminder, and reminders lose to a craving every time. The moment you most want the app open is the exact moment the app lets you open it.
Unracked closes that gap. Blocking is enforced by iOS itself, so quitting Unracked does nothing. Schedules and places arm without you. And the way out is intentionally slow enough that you have to actually decide to take it.
Three ways to block
Most people use all three. The point is that the ones you don't start are the ones that work when your judgement is worst.
Block for 15 minutes, two hours, or until you decide you're done. A live ring counts it down in the app, in the Dynamic Island, and on your Lock Screen — and finishing one builds your streak.
Weekday mornings. Every evening. All night. Set the window once and the block arms itself on time, every time, even with Unracked closed. Nothing to remember, nothing to start.
Pick a place and the block begins the moment you arrive, then lifts when you leave. Your desk, a classroom, a gym, a library, home. It works with your phone in your pocket and the app shut.
Built to hold
The breathing exit
A blocker you genuinely cannot escape is a liability — phones matter, emergencies happen. So Unracked always gives you the door. It just asks you to breathe first.
Thirty-two seconds of box breathing — in, hold, out, hold, twice through — is long enough that the impulse that started the reach has usually passed before the block lifts. It runs on its own — there is nothing to press, and nothing to get right. And because the cost is identical for a session, a schedule, or a place, there's no clever workaround to discover — only the decision.
Breathe in
Leave at any point and the block stays exactly where it was.
Private by design
No sign-up. No email. Your blocked apps, your schedules and your places never leave your phone.
Apple's Screen Time hands Unracked anonymous tokens instead of app names, so even the developer can't tell which apps you picked. Locations are matched on the device — never logged, never transmitted.
Pricing
Everything included. Cancel any time.
$4.16 a month — less than half the monthly price.
Both plans start with a 7-day free trial. Manual focus blocks are free and unlimited; Premium adds places, schedules and a block screen you write yourself. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage your subscription or turn off auto-renew in your Apple Account settings. If your subscription ends, blocking stops and your apps are released — you're never locked out by a lapsed payment.
Questions
Nothing. The shield stays up. Blocking is enforced by iOS through Apple's Screen Time framework, not by Unracked running in the background — so closing the app has no effect, and neither does restarting your phone.
Yes, with 32 seconds of guided breathing — in, hold, out, hold, twice through. It costs the same whether the block came from a focus session, a schedule, or arriving at a place. Unracked is a commitment device, not a trap: there's always a way out, it's just never a reflex.
Yes. Schedules arm and disarm themselves with Unracked closed, and location blocks start the moment you arrive and lift when you leave, whether or not the app is open.
Screen Time — Family Controls — is the only mechanism Apple provides for blocking apps on iPhone, and Unracked uses it on your own device. In exchange, Apple hands the app anonymous tokens instead of app names, so it never learns what you blocked.
So a block can start when you arrive without the app being open. iOS wakes Unracked at the boundary of a place you chose. The match happens on the device; your location is never logged and never transmitted.
Blocking stops. Schedules and locations disarm and any running block is released, so a lapsed subscription can never lock you out of your own apps. Your settings are kept, and resubscribing restores them.
